Malibu txi tower options trading
Not sure how to deal with a long link? It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons! August in Boat Talk. So, I have a Response lx with walkover open bow, wedge, and tower. Often have family of 6 in the boat with a fair bit of gear. I in general really like my wake and think it is smaller than other Malibu Lxi's I have been in, and like it better at longer lengths than the pre prostars.
We usually run mph for me and the kids and off is where my experience on these boats. My friend just bought a 05 Nautique and malibu txi tower options trading wake is considerably nicer smaller and non existent at 28off with no trough. Is the just that much better or does my tower and extra weight make that much of a difference.
Does a tower make that much difference on boat wakes? I could take my tower off and compare but I am far to lazy for that, it is easer to just ask fellow ballers.
A tower is the least of your contributing factors IMO. The fact is, ski boats make better wakes with less weight in the boat. So anything you can do to reduce weight is really useful. Leaving family members behind sounds like a bad plan. So if you aren't really using the tower, I would remove it malibu txi tower options trading sure.
Every little bit helps. The weight of the tower is essentially the only measurable effect. I have one on a Prostar The tower weight is no more than pounds since I remember carrying it with my wife. The weight of a tower is distributed across gunnels of the boat and approximately centered over the pylon.
Your extra crew members are the bigger variable. But Family fun time on the boat is worth the extra weight. I think I am malibu txi tower options trading bothered. The wake on the was a thing of beauty. That being said with my Malibu I can fit all the kids and gear on public water, wakeboard and surf with the wedge down which I don't think is possible in the But the wake was so nice.
I think I just have a serious case of wake envy now. I am a big proponent that life is malibu txi tower options trading with trade-off's and you can't have everything. This is one of those trade offs. Do the tower rails get in the way of the rope at or shorter on the LX?
We had an 03 Malibu txi tower options trading with a tower and it bent the rope at For me 38 is a length I dream about so can't say for sure. That being said the Extreme Malibu txi tower options trading I have is much further forward than the Illusion tower they put on some. I have hit the side of an Illusion tower at lengths of 22 off. My boat has a tower and malibu txi tower options trading back feet are forward of the pylon a few inches, so I figure adding about lbs forward of the pylon is not going to hurt my wake and may even help it.
I could be wrong as I've never skied it without the tower. However, I have come to appreciate my tower for enabling us to get stuff off the malibu txi tower options trading by using ski and wakeboard racks attached to the tower. A lot of value in that when we spend a full day out on a public lake.
MS - the TXi tower won't bend the rope as it's barely behind the windshield - non-issue in my opinion and makes for a more versatile boat. AndersonSkiTeam The wake on your Malibu is a thing of beauty.
I learned the course last year behind an 02 response lx 28 mph 15 off. It doesnt get much better. Even at slow speeds. We only have 2 in the boat and the skier. Back seat out and Wedge completely taken off. Also ski behind malibu txi tower options trading Malibu LXI and the response wake is slightly smaller.
MS Tower didn't matter. You always had plenty of slack!! I know this is a personal thing but i seriously dislike big towers on tournament boats. They have their place but not sitting on top of a or TXi please. I understand that perspective, that is also my preference and a whole lot easier to cover. But when you look at trying to make a tourney boat more versatile, it is a pleasant addition.
Especially on a TXi that has a wedge. Slalom definitely comes first and I don't want to give up any wake quality to make the boat more versatile. However, it had a tower on it when I bought it and I kinda sorta like it. As others mentioned, it provides some off deck storage; it also mounts a nice Bimini that's high enough to stand under Next boat will likely have tower also Texas6 that Responses is beautiful. I'm a CC guy usually, but that boat is sharp! If you're going to have a tower malibu txi tower options trading least put some speakers on it so the skier can jam!
I have an 02 LX and ski behind s with other people on our lake and find the wakes to not be substantially different. If you are comparing your boat with a tower and 6 people in it to the with a driver and two passengers your wake is going to be much bigger. Recently I took my son out to show some people how the course is skied and we had 6 people in the boat. When my so was done he commented on how big the wake was. It is the people and the weight not the hull. The tower is probably worth a couple of passengers.
I love the TSC hull as much as the next guy, but tower, wedge, and 6 passengers is not a fair comparison to the empty However, your tower is probably about pounds, so it's probably only worth one person. For all the advantages it brings, I would be keeping it around if you are on open water with lots of people. Just start inviting fewer friends if you want good wakes.
I have a tower on my '06 LXi and one of my ski buds has an '05 LXi. You can notice the difference in the wake with just the tower. I'm taking mine off next season and will only use it if we take the boat to a large public lake in the northern part of the state malibu txi tower options trading the family. For our normal usage, it's not necessary. ISP6ballunfortunately not my boat but I malibu txi tower options trading it's pretty.
That one is promo out of Mississippi that I had inquired malibu txi tower options trading buying. It happened to be up on my desktop when this thread started so I used it as an example: Never heard back so he's either at Nationals or somebody else got her. Not much shade protection with the bimini that high. Were they using any towered boats at Nats this malibu txi tower options trading I had complaints that my wake was hard and bump at 22 was bad.
Took both off and it was much better. I would bet that adding a tower is similar in effect to not only adding weight, but adding weight at the stern. This would be similar on a smaller scale to how a wakeboarder can make the wake slightly bigger while loading the line if using a tower and speed control I'm not an expert in physics or aerodynamics, but I would have guessed that the pull from a wakeboarder is going to put significantly more load on the tower in terms of pulling up the bow of the boat and the stern down than the tower will get from wind resistance.
Yes, I agree that a wakeboarder puts more load on the tower than wind at slalom speed. Most of the tournament style boats were designed for skier, driver and passengers. I had an Mastercraft X7 with a tower. When ever I skied I would only let driver and one passenger or ballast in the boat.
I considered the tower as one person. If I had more than two people in the boat when I was skiing I could tell the difference especially at 28 and 32 off. I notice some interesting statements in this thread. Even with the weight ranges given for a tower it's still in line with the weight of an adult male skier.
I'm going to use what I consider a pretty reasonable example: Lest say you train for tournaments behind a boat with no tower, no wedge and just a driver. You may add in some weight to counter malibu txi tower options trading the driver so equivalent to 1. Let's also assume you train behind a current approved boat.
I'm not sure if it is ok to talk about other manufacturers boats, but is that going to fly? The number of ProStar similarities is pretty amazing. They could have at least tried to differentiate a bit with some easy stuff like selecting a different steering wheel. I understand there is only so much you can do with layouts and such, but wow. Do you have a picture or link to the new boat?
That dash and malibu txi tower options trading are pretty darn close to an MC in style. Still holds the BU response look with nice style update. The carpet on the engine cover needs to go if it's gonna be a seadeck floor. You can't have both. I will say the first thing that popped to me was the wake. I have t spent any time behind the malibu txi tower options trading designed prostarbut do spend quite a bit of time in malibu txi tower options trading response lxi.
That wake in the video looks malibu txi tower options trading. It's flat as hell. It will be fun to see at malibu txi tower options trading boat show. I'm sure it will be a nice boat and was a needed refresh. Looks like they pulled a prostar in the shop and tried to duplicate it. Only real difference I see is the bow.
Malibu has some kind of reverse pickle fork thing? For some weird reason, it looks like a frog to me. That and you either get closed or open bow You get both with a prostar! For those of us that are okay with towers, this one looks like a better looking option.
Nicer looking and more functional. Hard to tell without a full boat shot, or it riding down the lake. This is a prostar replica. I will say that the tower looks pretty sweet but it looks like an axis tower. Well maybe it will get MC to spend some time working an new innovations for the prostar, like a good looking tower. Seems like the prostar is an afterthought these days behind the surf model boats. Two rear seats, front pickle, windshield, side ski racks Bu's tower is a drivers arm breaker, doesn't look very functional as a drivers standpoint.
Nice to see someone gets it and stops trying to sell things with HP numbers. Torque is the important factor! And soon to be powered by engines marinized in house. The nose looks slightly different, but otherwise they might as well just use mastercraft as a private label manufacturer malibu txi tower options trading slap their name on it for a fee. I know for a fact MC has patented those racks that hold the skis the way they do, they should have fun with that lawsuit.
Who knows what other design patents they hold that they can sue for. I hope they do, Malibu completely ripped them off. This wake appears non existent.
Much prefer the MC PS malibu txi tower options trading, but gotta give props to bu on this one. I thought a competition tow boat had to be 20' or less. I think, its just what is submitted, to the approval committee. Looks like, Malibu discontinued the LXR. False I'd say since the was approved in '07 and ' I got a chance to ski this boat about a week ago. All I can say is WOW! I'm not malibu txi tower options trading greatest skier but 15off at 34mph it was softer through the wakes than the current Prostar, so I'm willing to bet it only gets better from there.
Also the bow is actually usable. Didn't get a chance to pull anyone in the course but overall the boat drove really well too. Prostar still has the best ski storage IMO. And what's the price of admission? One of the clubs I'm a member at has been running Malibu txi tower options trading for years and will be getting a new one in April.
The ski racks were what screamed knock off to me. It does look like they can get in the way more with the BU than the Prostar.: Well then I choose to engage my MasterCraft goggles and childishly revert back to "don't like it. Make more interior space, make the wake smaller, and improve tracking in the course, everthing else is just filler. There is not much wiggle room when designing a 20' ski tug.
The old LXi had a pretty long run and needed a redo much like malibu txi tower options trading 01'' MC I'm just happy to see anything new in a slowly dieing sport. I also heard the Carbon Pro will be all redesigned for 17' Since they're owned by CC maybe skiers will see a more affordable ski boat. I thought it wasmay be wrong thought Edit: What's great about these boats is also what makes the new DD market so tiny.
They last forever, and are easy to work on. So fewer new boats are needed, but I think the supposed death of the sport is overdone. They're could be an cheaper alternative to the big three.
And since the CP is owned by CC some guys think they can sell a cheaper base boat but still not hurt sales of the flagship SN Malibu's price point and reliability is the reason I sold my mastercraft and moved over to a response.
Granted it's not a brand new tug, but it's great to see there is stil room to innovate. I feel like I read somewhere that malibu is going to only keep models for 4 years then it's time for a new design?
Hopefully that will up the game and keep everyone trying to compete! Also it's been discussed a bunch already but the side spray from this new hull is going to kill anyone that works off the boom. Only draw back to this new set up. This made me chuckle. I think you read this about MC and mixed it up. They've kinda made a big deal about that rapid rate of product refresh.
With this boat, the Prostar, and the SN, it seems the price should come down. The interiors seem to be going backwards with basic rectangles for seats and backs. Interiors from the late 90s and early s were much more plush. All of these new boats remind me of a mid 90's Moomba not a good thing. Since it seems everyone is trying to get the smallest wake, I don't understand making the boat longer. The lastest gen of ski malibu txi tower options trading are still even or slightly better than wakes from a early 90's Prostar.
Adding " of length doesn't seem to help. With lake restrictions, seems like a trend to less than 20' would come back.
But, what do I know? I believe Malibu's goal is 4 new models every year. Didn't the "new" Xstar come out in ? Or do we not talk about that here. You must have read my mind. My '92 PS serves my needs very well. My lifestyle and skiing ability would not improve one iota if I had a more recent PS or a brand new Prostar.
Malibu txi tower options trading fact, I cannot remember another year when that happened. Typically it's 3 or malibu txi tower options trading models spread between Axis and Malibu combined, with no more than 2 in the Malibu lineup.
I think it's widely assumed new X-star is coming next year, but fair point that it's a year tardy. I for one am malibu txi tower options trading it goes back to 22' or thereabouts. MC desperately needs a pickle between 20' and 23'. Biggest void in the lineup imo.
I feel like this goes both ways for all types of boats though. I think its a mentality that a lot of people have developed which is why the used market is flourishing. I do not like the wrinkle finish on the tower and windshield seems cheap to me Sorry Malibu txi tower options trading should have been more clear. It would be awesome to see a new Xstar byseems like that boat has been lost for a few years now.
